I have an albo top cutting on the way and I’m looking for any advice. I plan on water propagating with a bubbler but I’m nervous! How do I know when to plant it? Any recommendations on the substrate?

I did the same when I got my monstera cutting. You just keep an eye on the roots, when you feel there are enough for them to move you plant them. I’d PERSONALLY suggest tropical soil, miracle grow has some, that’s what I planted my monstera in and she’s doing great

A bubbler is a great addition to growing in water! Do you know if your cutting will have a starter root?

LECA is awesome. If you do have an an aerial root, that's a perfect way to get her started. I use general hydroponic's (CAli MAgic, FloraGrow, FloraBloom, FloraMicro, RapidStart (for roots), and their pH up and down). I know it's a lot to start with but honestly, I want to move all my Monsteras to LECA. I got a top cutting of an Albo off of marketplace. I knew it had root rot and still was up for it. I had to cut back until it was at the aerial roots completely. Added some Hydroguard to the solution to to kill off any root rot and it's almost ready to transplant in a new container! Seriously, look into LECA it's the only way I want to start my cuttings.

The yellow corner started back in January but it has not spread any further since I nipped the residual root rot in the bud. She is so happy and has a new left starting to form.

See I was debating on getting leca but wasn’t completely sure how to use it. I’m new to the monstera world (starting off big, Ik)… is it meant to replace soil completely or is it more of a step between water propagation and soil?

The LECA has no nutrients for the plants. So that's where all of the additives come in. I will say it's really nice because you go 2 weeks without watering. It's honestly scary to start it out that way, but super low maintenance once you do it. So you can use LECA to propagate and transfer to soil or replace it completely. I just like the peace of mind that it's watered even when I am away. I really like it because it has less pests and the LECA is reusable. This is the video that really helped me change my mind on LECA. I can't post the URL in the comment but it's on YouTube. It's from Hakunalaplanta and the title is "Complete Guide: How to Grow Plants in LECA & SEMI HYDROPONICS 💚 My Secrets (Basic Tips for Success)" Also not completely crazy it is your first one. I had one monstera before got my Albo. Go big or go home!
