My monstera has one leaf and hasn’t grown another and it’s been months. What do I do? It’s a fully green leaf that looks healthy but nothing else is growing.

    I would move it to a higher light location. But it is winter so it is not growing season. As it gets more light, maybe fertilize every other water. If it still doesn’t have growth in May or so, I would look at the roots.

    I have a grow light for it, should I still give it a brighter spot?

      maybe try downloading a light meter app and see what it’s getting from the grow light? I’d aim for the leaves to be receiving 400-1000 foot candles ideally. If the grow light isn’t strong enough and you don’t have the budget to buy a stronger one, right by an east facing window would be good. South or west facing windows can also work well if they have some sort of sheer curtain (to make it indirect light).

    How big is the pot? In my experience, monsteras tend to grow quicker when they are a little root bound. If the leaf is healthy, I would assume there is a lot of good stuff happening under the soil and just be patient. I also agree with another commenter in regards that it’s not growing season so it’ll probably be spring before anything starts showing. Good luck!

    When was the last time you repotted your monstera? From what I’ve learned from growing my own monsteras is that they either like to grow roots or grow leaves - but not usually both at the same time. For example, I repotted all my Thai Constellations when I first got them back in Sept. 2025 and the 1 (out of 3) finally just sprouted a new leaf. I’ve also found that monsteras like to be a bit root bound to produce more leaves. But if your roots look good and you’re getting enough light - I would just give it some time. I also personally fertilize almost every time I water at a diluted amount as monsteras are big eaters.
