So I need a little insight. I split my huge monstera up and changed the soil to a more chunky well draining soil. It seems like ever since I changed it my monstera’s aren’t doing so well anymore.

When did you split & repot? Sometimes they get stressed by the change and it takes them a while to recover. I have a peace lily that is absolutely furious with me right now, but it needed the repot and I know in a few months it'll forgive me haha

1 j'aimeIt’s like tough love they don’t understand. lol
0 J'aimeMaybe still adjusting? I always lose a few new leaves from other plants when I repot, like syngonium and pothos. I dunno though. My experience with my monsteras is they hate me for a while after any change.

yeah, in my experience monstera don’t tend to do well once split up. they seem to grow better in a somewhat crowded pot. idk why so many people recommend splitting them. it is traumatic for the roots. i’ve learned that the hard way too. so now when mine are overcrowded, i gently detangle the matted roots only, place in a larger pot and backfill, then shimmy the pot and water to settle the soil. like Rhus said your plants probably just need some time to recover. could be the soil mix is very different and it is having a hard time adjusting to that as well. just continue to take care of them (a supplement like superthrive could help) and be sure the soil is mostly dry before watering. hopefully you’ll see new growth soon. if the leaves continue to die, check the roots for rot. good luck
