Hi! I just got my first monstera about a week ago from Lowe’s. Day of I re potted it in my fox farms potting soil gave it a good watering with nutrients and sprayed it for pests with a natural pest spray. I’ve been watering it every other day. I started to notice these black spot on the ends of the leaves. I’m not sure if I’m watering it too much or if it needs more light because it is not in direct sunlight. Anybody familiar and know what these spots mean. Even my new leaf is getting black spots 😭

if you’re watering every other day you’re giving her too much water!

Hi sorry yes every other day. It’s a big pot with a lot of soil and I thought you are supposed to water frequently after recent repotting? But if that’s the problem that’s an easy fix for me lol.

I just got one of these recently too and I learned that these particular monsteras are super prone to root rot so you wanna be extra careful with how much you water her! I’d recommend that you check on her roots to make sure there’s no rot and also make sure that you have her in a pot that’s only an inch or so bigger than the nursery pot, hope this helps!

Yeah the pot looks way to big for the plant. I’d check the roots for rot, remove any if present, and then repot in a pot about 1” bigger than the rootball. Also use soil with extra drainage amendments added in for extra aeration. And only water when the soil is dry. Every other day is much too frequent.

Thank you everybody! I appreciate the help! I’ll work on repotting and checking the roots!
