Hi! I'm new to Monsteras as I don't have much room but I couldn't wait anymore haha I'll gift her when she hopefully grows to big. So I just added her moss pole (plastic with sphagnum moss) about how long does it take for them to grow aerial roots? Thank you in advance! Hope everyone is growing well! 💚

I’m no Monstera expert but mine grew arial roots much quicker than I thought. Couple months maybe. Now they’re growing out the top!

Haha I love that! Thank you - I feel better now. It's only been about a month since I put the pole on and I want to make sure I didn't do anything wrong haha

Mine didn't start growing aerial roots until I moved her to a window with more sun within the last year. She's now in an East-facing window. Once I did that, her leaves started to fenestrate and aerial roots shot out like crazy. You can see some of them in this photo.

Perfect! Mine is in our sunroom with a nice west-facing window. She did have a rough start so I should be patient. After about 2 weeks of receiving her I reported her and 2 days later my dog knocked her over - and I think danced on her too! When I got home I did my best to save her and placed her in the sunroom away from my mutt. That was about 3 months ago and she did out out a new leaf so 🙏

Also, I love your poles (never thought I'd say that!) they look natural - I actually had to enlarge the picture to make sure they weren't giant stems. Beautiful work

Thank you. I got them on Amazon and I don't get them wet. It makes too much of a mess when I try. I bought them because I can bend them to the plant's growth. I plan to separate the plants at some point in the near future. I got the impression each one should have their own pot. So I need to assess what size pots and what type to use. I lean toward unglazed terra cotta pots because they breathe really well and I use a good well-draining soil. I just worry using terra cotta is going to be too heavy as the plant gets taller. One of my big concerns is when she gets too tall to be in my desk. I have no space on the floor in front of the window because of my plant stands and my desk, but that's a worry for another day and a room to clean and organize. 😂
