How does one go about putting a moss pole in and attaching Ariel roots? My Monstera also is getting to the point it needs a pole as it is putting most of its weight on the window but idk how to make it attach to one. Any advice appreciated!

I get some vinyl coated steel mesh or something similar, you can get it at any hardware store, zip tie it into a tube, and either use a dowel or just bury part of it into the pot depending on how big it is. When you make your tube you wanna fill the part that’s inside the pot with the same soil in the pot, and the part that’s above it with sphagnum moss. The moss needs to be wet 1-2 times a week but wait for it to be mostly dry before wetting again. To attach just tie it or tape it to the pole, not too tight. And tie the stem, not the leaves

You can also purchase them if that’s your persuasion. The ones you can buy can generally be extended easier and might retain moisture longer if they’re one of the plastic ones

Check out SydneyPlantGuy on Instagram or YouTube. He makes tons of moss pole content.
