Very concerned for my big monstera. I recently took it to a nursery to get repotted because i knew it was seriously root bound. It went through a very rough repot (took 5 people to get it out of the old pot!) but the roots looked healthy. It’s now in a 10” pot (before it was in an 8”) with a moss pole. Unfortunately it’s been losing old leaves like crazy (they have been turning yellow) which I know isn’t uncommon but it’s been 5 leaves within a matter of two weeks since being repotted. I wouldn’t be too concerned but its newer healthier leaves are now turning yellow. I watered and fertilizered it after i repotted it two weeks ago and then just watered it again today because the soil was looking dry and the leaves were curling. Now I’m starting to think I should’ve held off watering it after its repot. Any advice would be appreciated! I just can’t figure out what’s wrong with it or if it just stressed from being repotted. I don’t want it to lose any more leaves :(

Could it be over fertilising? I’ve always been told not to fertilise straight after repotting because the new soil has all the nutrients it needs! It could be a mixture of that and stress? I’m not an expert on monsteras but applying my planty knowledge, I would make sure it’s got plenty of light and let it dry out before watering again. I’d also lay off the fertiliser until it’s recovered but happy to be told I’m wrong by someone who knows more about monsteras! X

Oh wait that’s totally it 😭 I didn’t even think about that! Do you think I should flush it out? Or just leave it for awhile till the soil is totally dry?

I think it’s definitely shocked at this point too much water and fertilizer right after repotting. Let the soil dry all the way out before watering.

Do you think I should flush out the fertilizer or just leave it for now? I got some advice on other forums to water it in the shower to flush out the fertilizer. But since I just watered it yesterday, I’m thinking it may be better to just let it dry out completely and then flush it out during the next watering

I would 100% leave it. Do not flush it. The plant will only see that as more watering 😬
