Swamp Witch

Advice for repotting a weak start? I got this baby from someone who neglected her in the first year. When I repot can I straighten it out by burying the start of the stem or is that a no go? As you can see from the fenestrations on her latest leaf, she’s pretty happy.

You could bury the stem, the aerial roots will grow soil roots, but I would just make sure it’s a very chunky soil covering the stem part while it grows those new roots. I’ve buried many monstera stems they grew new leaves from each buried node. It’s a beautiful plant!🪴

I wouldn’t recommend burying the stem, it can lead to stem rot. Her new leaves are beautiful and the stem serves as a reminder of how far she’s come!

Wow that is so cool how it’s grown! I wonder if you could turn the plant in such a way that the stem is lying across the top of the soil without actually burying it?
