Is it ok to let my monstera grow out a long vine like this? Or should I trim back and propagate? I am not world’s best gardener so I’d like to disturb the plant as little as possible Note photo of what the original cutting looked like- from about a year ago

Are we sure this is a monstera? It looks like a pothos or maybe a heart leaf philodendron? It needs more light whatever it is, and would benefit from a much smaller pot with drainage

That pot had drainage but I have a smaller pot I can transfer to if it makes a difference.

It will make a difference I think. I doubt that this vine has enough roots to fill this pot which could lead to watering issues. The second pic was helpful. I see you lost your fenestration which is indicative of poor light — definitely needs more. Here’s a pic of my little adansonii. It was two water propped leaves when it was gifted to me in march. I moved it to a very chunky aroid mix. It’s admittedly getting a little more sun than it would prefer but overall growing like mad — it looooves extreme humidity. Good luck!!

I would propagate that thing into several plants. It is leggy. I propagated my huge monster recently with great success. Now I have 12. lol.

This is a Monstera adansonii aka Monkey Mask or Swiss Cheese Plant. You could chop and prop or get a moss pole and wrap it around it, they do grow more vine like than the monstera deliciosa but both types of monstera need something to climb on.

i would recommend chopping it, having the vine lean over the edge like that puts a lot of pressure on vining plants and can cause issues like slow growth, breakage, etc. i also would suggest either moving it closer to the window or getting a grow light as your plant looks very etiolated, or stretched due to lack of light.
