Question: Will this node wrap around the closest pole or will it continue to grow in this direction? You can see one of the other nodes by going to the plants photos. She has really exploded in growth since someone suggested I move her to get more sun! These nodes were barely a half inch long before I moved her a few months ago and now look at them. I'm so happy!
My aerial roots just grow straight out, sometimes toward the dirt if they are close enough but the higher up ones just stay straight and don’t wrap around the dry moss pole. Especially that type of pole that doesn’t get or stay moist. The sphagnum moss poles, they would sometimes dig into those and grab hold.
0 J'aime I heard the moss poles that you keep wet attract gnats which is why I opted for these.
1 j'aime I have both. It doesn’t matter which you have. If it’s the dry(poles)ones, then manually attach them to keep them sturdy and upright, if it’s the wet/moist ones, I always spray mine with a home made organic pest spray like once a week, which I also use on my soils after each watering so I don’t get those gnats. That is just a mixture of essential oils like peppermint, cinnamon bark, thyme and I forget what else. But it’s all about personal preference. I did one of both to see if I liked any better than the other. For the faster growing monsteras like the deliciosa, I feel it’s easier to let them anchor in themself since they grow so tall so fast. And my slower growing, monstera albo, I use the dry poles. But it really doesn’t matter, it’s all personal preference

She started as a tiny little thing! Good job on all that growth! 😃😃 I have no answers about the poles as I just put moss poles in myself.

aerial roots don't really wrap around things, rather they attached themselves to things they make contact with. usually monstera roots just continue growing in the same direction until it gets long enough to reach the soil or if you add a moss pole. she's so pretty!!
