My monstera is due for a repot. Right now it’s in a 7.5” pot. What size should I size up to? Also, I’m thinking of adding a moss pole, but my monstera is kind of going in two different directions. If I put one pole in the middle, I’m scared I will break the stems if I tie it back towards the middle. Any advice?? Pics of the front and back to show it growing in two directions :) 🪴

I’m here for advice too on moss pole. I bought some small monsteras and before I knew what I was doing I put them in a larger pot, 12 inches. They are doing fine.

I have a moss pole on one but just to keep branches in place. No other purpose

I have a similar looking monstera, and I used a handful of green metal plant props to hold up each main stem!! I use a spray bottle to mist regularly, so the extra moisture it would get from a moss pole is insignificant. Plus the props are $2 each!☺️

Oh and I normally size up 1 inch per side to prevent water logging the roots, so a 9.5-10in pot might work well!!

I would size up only by 2” as getting a too big of a pot can create stress for the plant. If you want to get a moss poll you can but one isn’t necessary. All you really need is a large stick. All they care about is climbing

I’m late, but monstera don’t like being repotted and definitely don’t like their roots played with (in my experience). I aim to repot a monstera once a year. To that end, I would go from 7.5” to 10” or even 12”. I would want something that I’d be handling once a year. You’ll need to make sure you don’t overwater, but your plant is gonna fill out in NO TIME
