Morning! Bought a Thai constellation yesterday, but I don’t like the soil it’s in. I think it’s in peat. Do you guys repot right away after bringing a new plant home? I usually don’t but I really don’t like this soil 🙃

And I always check for death plugs

いいね 1件I always repot new plants right away. It lets me check for pests, root rot, mesh death plugs, and change the soil. My thoughts are, you’re bringing a plant into a totally new environment, I might as well do all the shocking things all at once. Although, I feel like I’ve never had a plant go into shock after a big change. I think I’m just lucky.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll go ahead and repot today.
いいね 1件Same - I repot immediately. I refuse to risk pests coming in. The only exception is baby plants (specifically tropicals) as I want to give them a beat to acclimatise. So, I keep those in terrarium jars for a week, and then repot.
