Morning! Bought a Thai constellation yesterday, but I don’t like the soil it’s in. I think it’s in peat. Do you guys repot right away after bringing a new plant home? I usually don’t but I really don’t like this soil 🙃

And I always check for death plugs

1 LikeI always repot new plants right away. It lets me check for pests, root rot, mesh death plugs, and change the soil. My thoughts are, you’re bringing a plant into a totally new environment, I might as well do all the shocking things all at once. Although, I feel like I’ve never had a plant go into shock after a big change. I think I’m just lucky.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll go ahead and repot today.
1 LikeSame - I repot immediately. I refuse to risk pests coming in. The only exception is baby plants (specifically tropicals) as I want to give them a beat to acclimatise. So, I keep those in terrarium jars for a week, and then repot.
