Hey everyone! I just got my very first Monstera Adansonii, is there anything I should know about this plant and what they like? Are the similar care wise to a Monstera Deliciosa?

Just got one of these myself and would love some tips too! Mines just lost a leaf and I’ve no idea why as it’s pushing out new ones 🤷🏼♀️ have to say I’m learning about them lol
3件のいいねAll I know about them is that they’re climbers and so having a moss pole or something for them to stick to as they grow is recommended and to not place them near super bright light because they’re prone to burning

0件のいいねI don’t have an adansonii but thought I did until I was corrected here in the forums that it was a deliciosa. I read they need the same care, just that the adansonii will stay smaller longer as it takes longer to grow.

how did you confuse the two? i’d like to see a pic honestly, they look so different to me
0件のいいねI’m brand new and the plant only had one leaf that had one fenestration in it. The rest of the leaves were whole and the leaf with the fenestration just had the one hole and no splits so I used Planta and it said adonsonii, so I believed it. I also looked at illustrations of different monstera leaves and since mine didn’t have any splits and just holes, I agreed with the adonsonii ID. I didn’t know their other characteristics at the time. Now I see the big differences between them.

they love a moss pole, i’ve found these basic ones from amazon work great! just search ‘indoor moss pole’ and they’re like $8-10 for a two pack. as for water and light, i have this one sitting on the sill of a north facing window and only water once the soil has completely dried out. i also use a liquid fertilizer from happyhappyhouseplant called plant food with every watering

basically the same care wise, just know they can either climb or trail so either in a hanging pot or on a moss pole. also less areal roots in my experience
いいね 1件I find that mine likes more humidity, water, and less light than my deliciosa
