Hey everyone! This is my first ever post. I'm writing because I have a concern... Where I live, there's no direct sunlight but we do get indirect sun. I had my monstera in the window sill but now that I have a grow light I want to keep it by my couch (about 6-8 feet away from window). I'm unsure if this is a bad decision. AI says it should be okay, even thrive and grow, using basically only the grow light. PLEASE let me know, I really do like my monstera. Monstera deets: Water propagated about a month or two ago. Transfered into pot like a month ago or so idk. Feels pretty rooted in, no budging. Slightly bent, it was a cutting from a massive plant at my mom's. (Photo taken at night so it's dark sorry!)

    Hi there, in my opinion just give it time to adjust and just observe it for the most part. The grow light should definitely be beneficial and if you still have some type of sunlight hitting it im your monstera will adjust :) but if shes showing any constant dramatic signs for longer than the adjusting period then I would probably put your plant back in the window :) hope this helps a little

    while this can work, your grow light is not placed at a very good angle. monstera prefers to face the light, not have it from above. you'll see faster growth and a happier monstera if you move the light. do not use generative AI like chatgpt, google AI, gemini, etc. the data centers are destroying ecosystems by polluting drinking water, raising temperatures, and disturbing wildlife with noise pollution.

      Great info thank you! I will be relocating my monstera this week, she she’s gotten pretty good size, it’s time to tie some more limbs to the moss pole … so this move should be interesting! Still trying to figure out where I’m going to put it in my new space …. There is tons of indirect light so I think it is going to be good!

      when you say limbs, do you mean the stem that connects leaves to the main stem? if so, that's not ideally where you want to attach it. you only want to be securing the main stem to the moss pole, as attaching the petioles or leaf stems risks breakage. it's also not really helping your monstera attach to the pole on it's own. it's okay if it leans forward a little as long as it won't tip the pot over
