Hi everyone, this is my Thai constellation monstera. It was doing well under a grow light in my office all winter and spring, but when I turned the AC on during the summer, the leaves started turning brown. I put it in my living room (indirect light) with a grow light on it 3 months ago to get it out of the cold draft. However, it’s not recovering. Only one of its five leaves is currently completely green. I haven’t been overwatering or fertilizing and though it’s near a heater, I never turn the heater on. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi love!! This looks like a draft/not enough humidity issue. When the air circulates too much it takes a lot of the moisture with it so I’d put her in a room where you can either close the vents majority or move her away from all drafts of air and support with a humidifier. Don’t chop it off because Thai cons are sensitive but she may be able to bounce back!

I would also suggest repotting into a clear plastic nursery pot so you can tell better when the soil is dry. Monsteras are made to be resilient in most cases so here’s to hoping she comes back thriving!! Best of luck friend and happy gardening!

Thank you! I moved it out of the draft a while back so I think it’s likely a lack of humidity. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Good tip on not trimming off the affected leaves—I was wondering about that. Thank you! 🙏

That leaf will never recover, so if you see new healthy leaves, then you know it's just damage from your ac.

Thank you. With the damaged leaves gone, it seems to be hanging in there. I’ve put it next to my massive monstera deliciosa which is doing great, so hopefully living in the exact same conditions will bring it back.
