I currently have a cheap “moss” pole for my monstera. However I don’t think it’s something the aerial roots can grow into. I’ve seen the ones you can buy and fill with moss or whatever that the aerial roots grow into. I’ve also just seen some people use a nice sturdy trellis. Mine is just starting to grow one of its first aerial roots since I supported it. I’d like to figure out the best approach before it gets too big to change easily. I was misting this moss pole and the brown spot above the node appeared. Please any advice will help! Thank you:)

If you do end up getting this one,the rough side is meant for the plants roots to attach so rough side should face front

I think the only thing that I’m not sure about this one is that it is kinda pricey. Would you say it’s worth it?

I agree that it is if you really want your monstereas roots to attach to something I would say a moss pole is a better option.if you’re looking for more aesthetics, I would say a treleaf trellis is better option

Is there a benefit to having the roots attach?

Your current “moss” pole is fine. My monstera started on it. If you want the aerial roots to grow into the moss, the one you linked that you put moss into works fine too. I personally, don’t think monsteras need to much. I have mine tied to 3 giant wooden sticks i bought from home depot & she does just fine on it. They’re mainly to support the leaves from leaning over. As long as they’re tied to something and being forced go grow upwards the leaves will grow bigger.

If you want bigger leaves and more fenestrations get a plastic pole from amazon or you can diy one, then fill it with moss. They are kind of ugly and hard to keep wet.
