Hello everyone, I hope everyone's day is going well! I am needing some help with my monkey plant. A.k.a. Monstera and Adansonii. I have just plucked off three totally yellow leaves on the lower part of the tallest one. And my smaller one seems to be Starting to yellow as well. I let them dry out quite a bit between watering. And they have been getting their regular fertilization. And they are both by a humidifier. What am I doing wrong?!? Any tips and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

Seems like you are doing so much right! Maybe more light?

They are both right next to a window, south facing.🫤 Not to mention they are also in proximity to a grow light for the plants in the corner next to the window.

I see you have clear pots. First, do those pots have drainage holes?if not add some you want to make sure roots are not sitting in water. Second, How are the roots looking ? Are they a healthy white or are any turning black? Turning black would be unhealthy roots from sitting in water or poor air flow. I recommend also making sure enough air is getting to the roots by poking a chopstick in and fluffing up the soil. Third, I would put your clear pots in an out ceramic pot. This will catch the water from your drainage holes and some plants don’t want light on their roots. Try these things. I’m a beginner monkey plant owner too. I’m about to add my first climbing pole. But I had yellow leaves a month ago and these tips seem to have stopped the issue.

Oh few other things to check: make sure plant is not under a heater or AC unit. And yellowing can be from too much fertilizer so check your dilution ratio and frequency of feeding. Good luck!

I’ve got a pretty big one of these myself, but it’s not nearly as picky as yours seems to be! Don’t think I’ve ever fertilized it, and I kinda forget to water it more often than not, but it’s thriving anyway. The only thing I’d say to double check is the light. They don’t like really bright direct light, in the wild they grow on the ground and up trees, so generally in the shadier parts of the forest. You might want to try giving them a bit less light for a while and seeing if that helps. Aside from that if you can’t get them to settle I’d suggest cutting it back and propping it. Sometimes a fresh start is all they need.

Thank you very much, that could very well be it, too much light! It wasn't that long ago that I rehomed them near the window I should've put two and two together. I've had it for a couple of years and it's always done so well I guess a chop and prop is in order now. Thanks for the insight. 🫶🏼
