Hey everyone so I’m really concerned for my monstera it’s starting to get cold and I have no inside space for her . It’s supposed to drop down to the 30’s this week in temperature would that be a problem or should I be good? She been doing good in the 50’s & high 40’s but I don’t know if she survive the 30s . Any recommendations?

Should I place a bag over her during those nights ? I heard of people doing that but I never had a plants and this is my first winter having them. I would hate to lose her

Consistent exposure to temperatures in the 30s can cause damage to the leaves. One night at 38 should be fine, but if it’s consistently colder than that, I personally would try to overwinter in the garage with a grow light or move some furniture to bring it inside.

Thank you, fingers crossed. It does get hot during the day so I doubt should be issue but still concern. Temp starts to drop around 1am but by morning it’s starting to warm up again

I just brought mine inside for the winter. If you have a garage then I'd pull it in there to overwinter. Another option is a cheap greenhouse from Amazon and a frost blanket. But monster don't tolerate being under 50 for long periods of time. Maybe put in on the floor somewhere in your house and buy a grow light to put directly above it. That's what I have to do for mine come winter.

It looks like it might be on your balcony... I realize this probably is too annoying, but could you put it just inside the balcony door when you go to bed at night, and put it back out in the morning? Alternatively, an insulated covering and a seedling heat mat might help it stay steady on cold nights.

I might have to bring it in at night worst case scenario and take back out
