hi everyone! iām super new to taking care of plants and i was just hoping for some advice about alphonso here! heās had a lot of new shoots pop up recently but im concerned about some of these dry brown areas and that one of these new shoots had wilted. i water him regularly and let the soil dry out between waterings too. any advice šš
From my personal experience with my monster I noticed they donāt like to much space .. The brown can be from ā over wateringā even thou you say you letting it dry between watering ( not calling you a liar) sometimes when thereās more room and dirt the water actually sits more when it isnāt needed .. Just from what I learnedā¦ Is it root bound ? If not , and itās nowhere near being root bound maybe come down a size on the pot and water from the bottom in parts to see how fast itās sipping it up so you can see more less if they need a cup of water or two etc
2 gillningar i also did notice that the soil is a bit loose. i originally moved it from its nursery pot because it was root bound and from my limited plant knowledge back then i assumed it needed a bigger pot to grow into. would it be more productive to pack the soil around it more tightly and add more or is it worth just completely repotting?
0 gillningar When repotting you normally wanna go one size up from the pot it was already in ā¦ if it was in a nursery pot this new pot is huge and thatās where the damage is coming from because itās holding more water deep inside thatās not needed

0 gillningar If it was root bound in the nursery no donāt go back just get the next size up
2 gillningar Trust this is mines I had to to cut it down and I started over with two leaves and now this is where I am
It also looks like you have two, possibly three little ones there - something to consider when you go pot shopping! You can keep them in the same pot but rotate so theyāre all facing the same direction (lots of YouTube videos about this) or separate them into different pots āŗļø
