It’s growing like crazy and now my baby has sticky substance on it. I will take it outside and wash it down to get it off, correct? I love it but it’s a mess and I’m afraid to cut it! Suggestions please? Thank you in advance!

Hi there, raised bumpy texture of leaves and that nectar on the leaf surface is probably thrips. Is there brown raised bumps on the underside too? Those little $&@?$ decimated 2 of my monsteras. It’s been an awful journey to get rid of them. I had to chop and prop in the end. But in the meantime I was spraying with a solution of water, liquid castille soap and neem oil every few days for a few weeks. It was pretty exhausting and I chopped and propped because I just wasn’t sure if it worked but they are all on the mend and I now have 5 monsteras instead of 2 🤣🤣🤣
2 J'aimeAlso just to add there could be multiple pests going on at the same time. Hard to tell from the photos but little white specks could be thrips or also spider mites. If there’s webbing, there’s spider mites. I would be spraying weekly for those with the same spray for 4 weeks. And closely monitoring over the next few months, spraying every 2-3 weeks if you see any signs of them returning. The other common one you might see (and again it’s hard to tell from the pics) is scale which are tan to brown colour and oval shaped. You can slide your finger nail over them and they burst. I would manually try to remove by wiping the leaves down but they also respond to the same spray. Hope that helps!
1 j'aimeI would spray foliage really good front and back then wipe each leaf front and back with 70% alcohol Then I would spray really good with berm oil and isolate this plant
