This is Godzilla, I think he’s doing great but thought I’d see what you all think. We struggled for a bit with scale bugs but seem to have gotten rid of them now.

    The name checks out! You need one of those rolling plant tray to wheel that big guy into the shower and give him a thorough spray.

      I can get him outside for a shower but it’s a struggle. I am wondering if I can split him at this point or is it too late? There are 3 or 4 stalks and I’ve had him for about 4 years.

      You can do it! I separated at year 5-6 and it took some wrestling but it’s possible! I saved most of the roots.

    Monstera seem to be very forgiving at getting their roots trimmed, so it shouldn't be a problem if you loose a few while separating the stalks. Personally I like the jungle affect of several stalks. You can try cutting one of the side one and propagate it, and it will give a tapered look to the main plant.

      I like how it looks too. I just thought I was maybe not doing the right thing by keeping all the stalks in one pot. But if it’s not necessary then I think I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing. He’s grown a lot since I got him, he’s probably about 6 feet tall. I do worry about him outgrowing the space eventually.
