New-er to plants (about a year now). Grabbed this propagation from my local plant shop and just curious on the best way to get it to root? I bought three other props from my store a few weeks ago and have had no root growth (hoya, philodendron and a pothos). All have been in water and getting direct sunlight, in glass containers. I did buy sphagnum moss and made a moss pole for another plant but unsure how to store my extra or if i can just drop all my props in it and call it a day. SOS

you can propagate it in just water alone! I have also seen some people do sphagmum moss for their cuttings but I’ve never tried it; mine is doing great in just water.

Awesome thank you. Did yours take long to root?

it took a few weeks to start rooting; winter may be a little longer. adding a pothos cutting or some prop drops can help speed up the process!

It can take some time, especially in winter. You can try a tiny amount of fertilizer, if you don't have rooting hormone. For moss, you just wet it, wring it out, line your prop box and toss nodes on top. Or you can bury the node in the moss. If it has leaves. And if it's a closed box, give it fresh air every day or so. Heat also helps

I sometimes have trouble converting adansoniis from water to soil so lately I've been propagating them in perlite.

When you do this it’s just straight perlite and then you just water it? Any fertilizer

Yeah I've been sticking them in just perlite, in something with no drainage holes although drainage holes pry wouldn't hurt, and soaking the perlite. Not enough that you can actually see water sitting tho. Bury the node in the perlite and cover with a plastic bag, maybe mist it. And then I just stick it in a bright spot and check it every few days to make sure the perlite isn't dry. I haven't added fertilizer to any of mine yet but I might. I literally just started doing it tho and have only one that's just starting to get roots, so idk if you want to take my advice or not.
