Nice striping on the node. Good chance for continued variegation when the auxiliary bud (new leaf) activates. I’d recommend keeping it in the moss for a while for the roots to develop before transition to soil. You’re probably looking at 2-3 months. Keep the moss lightly damp but not wet. Only the aerial root should be in the moss. The node and stem should sit on top. Use a small stake, bamboo stick, chop stick, ect for support to keep the plant upright if needed. Put the plant in the brightest spot possible, but not in direct sunlight. If you don’t have a bright window, a sansi 36 watt grow bulb would work great to get this rooting. They are cheap on Amazon. Extra humidity will help but it’s not required. I have a 4 leaf cutting in my living room doing fine with ambient humidity. Warm temps help as well. Bonus points for adding a heating mat. Again, this will help speed up rooting but isn’t required. Regular tap water is fine. You can add diluted liquid fertilizer while watering at about 25% percent at every other watering. Gradually increase to 50, 75, 100% as the roots develop. GL!

My thought would be small nodes forming, you really scored with that stem variegation! I find it easier to keep the moss damp with a fine spray bottle, that will help keep it from water logging. Beautiful plant and best of luck!

$40 is great price for that cutting. The only thing you’ll really need to worry about at this stage is over watering which could cause root rot. Resist the urge to helicopter parent, and just let it do its thing 👌🏽
