Update on my sad monstera: I took it out of its pot and found that the soil was too wet (possibly because it rained last night) but I’m not sure. I washed off the roots and found that most were rotten, so I chopped off all of the rotten parts back to healthy roots. Dipped the root ends in some cinnamon and now I’m letting it dry for a few hours. I’m thinking that I might regrow the roots in water, but I’m not sure. Any advice on how to get it healthy again?

    What does the cinnamon do? Does it act like root powder? I'm in a similar situation. I rescued a couple of stems from a dying drowned cheese plant and I'm pleased to say they're putting out tiny leaves now.

      It’s supposed to prevent bacteria from growing and spreading on the root cuts and helps to heal the wounds made from cutting.
