Hi! I got my Thia Constellation monstera about a month ago. I was wondering how far away my grow light should be from it. I currently have it about 6-7 inches away from it right now. Runs for 12 hours. I did get some burning started with one of my white leaves (see picture) but couldn’t tell if it’s from to much light or damage from when the leaf un raveling itself.

Idk how strong the lights are but i have my sansi bulb maybe 1 to 2 feet away from it running the same amount of time. Variegation usually means it needs more light to compensate for the lack of chlorophyll to photosynthesize. Some ppl use silica to help make it hardier or more resistant to browning, but I also find it enjoys my humidifier. Browning variegation and root rot r the 2 biggest concerns with these fs.

So possibly needs more light for that leaf?

6 or 7 inches might be too close depending how intense your lights are. 12 hour run time is fine. But the way the browning is, i want to assume its a humidity issue bc it looks like it struggled to unfurl.

No worries at all i should have said compared to a deliciosa about the lighting. Thais are quite a bit pickier about everything, and it only increases with more variegated varieties.
