Brand new Monstera mom and I don’t want to mess her up 🫣 Picked up this pretty lady at my local nursery. Only thing I’ve done is taken her out of her nursery pot and put her in this pot with an aroid mix soil. The configuration of all the stems is how I got her. I’ve been reading a lot of posts and watching a lot of YouTube videos and I learned support is important. I was planning on giving her a wee bamboo stake to start out, but I am a little confused on where the back is? My best guess is where I put that pink dot, but I wanted to run it by people who knew more than me 😅

That looks correct to me. Thai’s prefer to crawl over climbing so whichever direction it’s trying to crawl where you want the support. Maybe this picture explains it better?

Check for the areal roots. If you have two close to each other, then that’s the back of your plant and where your stake should go

I don’t see any aerial roots yet. Should I wait until I see some to support?

Ohh I see! Well tbh the pink point seems accurate so you could tilt the plant forward do that you can see the stem and place the pole against it or just put it right there and let the new stem lean on It. I find it easier to tie the plant when it’s a bit taller so It’s easier to identify the stem and direction it’s growing
