Show me the Greens!
😢 😢 😢 I put Big Leaf outside for a few days, thinking the sunlight and warmth would be a treat. The other two leaves on the plant are great. Do I cut this giant off? Please don’t kick me out of the group for burning her!

OlandynastyDon’t feel too bad . I had majestic palm that burnt up. I cut them and now she’s sprung new one and is doing great. If you can give her morning sun to let her acclimate she’ll be okay

HeatherMy giant bird of paradise did the same to me last summer, even after a week of gradual sun exposure. Luckily I was able to trim off the worst of the scorch and didn’t lose an entire leaf. I moved her back indoors where she quickly forgave me and pushed two new leaves. If you’ve got leaves that didn’t scorch you are good to go. Feel free to remove the damaged one. Just keep her out of direct sunlight if you make another attempt outdoors. Slower is always better for plants used to being indoors. Also, remember that if you move the plant outdoors and it is near the house, radiant heat from the building itself can add additional stress.

NikillerI did similar to my new Thai con, it didn’t burn anywhere near as much but mine had been living in direct sun at the store for a week with no issues, I guess the sun on my porch was just more intense than the store. I’m going to leave my sunburn leaf be and see how it fares, but I moved him straight inside the second I noticed.

Over all of the main plant area they definitely do but he was in a group of about 10 of them off by the pavers in like 5 hours of direct sun. Maybe that’s why mine burnt so fast after getting it home? It was already almost there, the other ones all had some degree of sunburn on them but the one I grabbed had no signs of any. Mine is chilling by all his normy monsters friends soaking in my grow lights and this is 6 days after his sunburn happened. He regained full composure of the one leaf and the bad one is still doing fine where the non variegated spots are, I’ll probably trim a large section of the leaf off just to prevent nutrient waste though
