Just got this Thai con from walmart. Was in what looked like some kind of sphagnum moss and I added a bonsai soil mix to help it. Upsized the pot about 1.5 in into terracotta, then watered. Is the soil gonna be too dense? It’s under a grow light, 1 East and 2 North facing windows. Please let me know if I made any mistakes and how I could fix them!

Bonsai soil drains really well, but also retains a lot of moisture. If you start to see yellowing you may want to try and mix of tropical and some orchid bark mix. I wouldn't say it's a mistake by any means, it may work out beautifully. But the art of Bonsai is to stunt the growth of the plant by limiting growth space, neutriance, and water just enough to maintain a dwarf size, but not so much that the health is compromised. And we don't want to limit the growth of this beauty. Let's give it some time and see how she reacts. Just keep a close eye on her and make sure the soil doesn't stay soggy after you water. 💙

Absolutely! I noticed that it dried really well as it’s about 80% of the bonsai soil and 20% of the sphagnum moss it came in. I’ll keep an eye out!
