Awww CRAP!!!😳😢😱 I was setting up/rearranging one of my plant corners with a new grow light. As I was knelt down to adjust the plug in the outlet and arranging a different plant lower on a plant stand, one of the grow lights bent over and burned the DICKENS out of my baby!! I’m heartsick. Ugh. Should I cut this leaf off right now or just let it be until it decides for itself?

If it were me I would cut it off. I always feels bad when I damage a leaf. I had a yellow sticky trap get stuck in my parlor palm today and rip off a bunch of leaves. It’s always so sad.

I feel that! Same with my parlor palm a few days ago. It’s difficult to get those little traps lower than the leaves. My mistake was buying soil from big box for the first time (Target). I believe it was infested with fungus gnats. I never even opened the bag… ugh! PSA- after purchasing fans, sticky traps and Zevo traps, total 🟰 $125, buying a bargain bag of soil for $10 to repot my basil definitely DID NOT save me money! Also, I observed that the only plants that have no gnats on the sticky traps and do not seem to be effected are the ones that I have in Ivy May premium soil, which has a lovely peppermint smell due to the natural pest deterrent that they add. Seems to me that it works. Happysoxdonkey, I thought of you when looking at a sago palm recently. Gaileen Joy, I’m sorry that happened to your beautiful monstera. I agree. Remove it and don’t let the plant expend energy on a leaf that cannot be healed.

Ooh! I’m going to have to see if I can find some of that soil! (The Ivy May, NOT the Target stuff. LOL!)

Thank you! That’s pretty much what I figured. Sorry about your parlor palm. 🫤

I am so sorry about the fungus gnats. They are so difficult. How frustrating! I can feel the kindness in your post! Yes, save your energy and the plants energy on the healthy leaves.

For fungus knats look up ā€œmosquito bitsā€ very effective and easy to apply to soil/water
