Would you repot this monstera again if it was treated for root rot and repotted 3 weeks ago? Saw one small brown/black tip on a stem that I pulled out the other day. Looked like it had no roots attached. Is it perhaps just one stem that didn’t regrow roots after the last repotting or a sign that root rot is back? I have barely watered at all since the repot and have it by a SW facing window. Maybe I just missed some rot the first time around?
How did you treat the rot? I would be concerned about the dark spots, considering it just had root rot. My best friend is hydrogen peroxide when it comes to this. I give the roots a good shimmy in water with hydrogen peroxide and I’ve had a lot of success. Also, it looks like he might be reaching for more light! How close is he to the window? You’re doing awesome!
1 me gustaThanks for your comment! I had brought it to my local nursery, and they helped me remove the rotten roots and repot it. They didn’t swish the healthy roots in hydrogen peroxide though. I’ve seen some people mention that you can water with a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water instead of repotting again. Do you think that would work? I’m worried that if I repot again so soon, that the shock will kill my plant.
0 Me gustaIt’s about 1 foot away from the window right now, but we’ve had a lot of cloudy days recently (which I think is why there was rot in the first place). I just ordered a grow light that I’m planning to add.
1 me gustaIn my experience, Monstera D is pretty resilient when it comes to repotting, especially if you just work slowly and gently. I personally would want to get another look at the roots to ensure there's no more rot lurking. Not sure what kind of substrate you have but if it's not super chunky/airy, you may want to consider switching that up to help avoid future root rot.
2 Me gustaI really appreciate your advice! That’s reassuring that it tends to do well with repotting. I’ll definitely check it out again and maybe incorporate the hydrogen peroxide mix this time around if I see any issues again. The soil is not super chunky. It’s basically just an all-purpose mix.

+1 to this - my monstera has been repotted three times in a year and has never gone into shock. I move efficiently but gently and it doesn’t seem to notice. Hydrogen peroxide is your best friend. 3% HP mixed 50/50 with water has worked well for me. And yessss to substrate - super airy, and add some horticultural charcoal to fend off funguses.
