I have a Monstera that has huge aerial roots. I’ve heard to put the end of them back in the dirt, I’ve heard to put the ends in water, I’ve heard to cut them off to get more leaves to grow, and I’ve heard to just leave them alone. my Monstera is out of control, because I did not know when I got her that she is a climber…now she’s a wanderer. I put the pool noodle on the edge of the pot so it wouldn’t make marks in her stem. So what do I do with the aerial roots and how do I get her to start climbing without hurting her massive stems? I’m scared to propagate her because I’m just a beginner at this. She seems happy. I just don’t want her to die. She’s my favorite plant!

Hello, I have this problem too. What I did to help was put a moss pole in the pot for the plant to climb up. I have a 6ft tall moss pole that I used Velcro tape to help secure stems to pole. Hope that helps! See picture for example of moss pole and green Velcro tape.

I’m afraid to bend mine. As I’m worried that the stem will snap. The stems are quite thick and some are even bent. I put the pool noodle there because I didn’t want the side of the pot to hurt the plant. The plant has made an indent into the pool noodle.
