    Is the brown part firm or squishy? If it's firm then it should be fine, but if it's squishy it might be rot.

    Yes it’s mushy what do I do?

      You can simply wash them off. It won’t hurt it. Whenever you decide to pot it up you’ll likely want to clean the roots again so it has a healthy start.
