My Monstera has few new and healthy leaves but as you can see the old leaves are damaged and crispy ( that happened when I first bought it but now it is in recovery) I need advice as what to do with these crispy leaves, I was thinking to chop these leaves but want advice first. I want to have beautiful monstera with these nice leaves but want best way to make it beautiful without compromising its health. Any suggestions would help.
It looks like 2 separate plants, is that correct? Also the new leaves that have come in are healthy and gorgeous! I’d say the plant has no problem receiving nutrients.. now! lol The best this to do is to trim off the dead cells on the leafs (aka the black) & you can do this with pruning shears or scissors that you sanitize with either 70% isopropyl alcohol or 30% hydrogen peroxide. -when trimming the dead leaf tissue you can shape them however you want it too look until the plant has no further use for them and/or you are ready to chop them off👍🏼 I hope this was helpful, goodluck!❤️

I remove leaves as soon as I see damage like that as long as there are plenty of healthy leaves. They are stealing the energy that could be used for new growth. 😉
