Hi! I had a huge monstera I bought off someone for $25 local. I’m not heartbroken that it’s been shocked from repotting, although I had too because they had kept it in a bucket. However, I’ve lost all leaves but one. I was trying to be hopeful, but at this point, I think my best option is probably propagating. Could anyone give me some tips on that? I’m not the greatest at propagating and I don’t really do it very often. I need tips on everything, I have rooting powder, but I wondered what you all found to be the best vials, whether it be actual glass tubes, mason jars, whatever, and please tell me exactly where I should cut!!! I need to know everything! Thank you all! Picture of it the night I got it, after repotting and removing higher up aerial roots, and 2 from just now.

Wow, that’s huge! I have a large clear vase I could use. Where would you cut mine at?

hi! you want to cut between two nodes, which are the bumps where the leaves were! this is called the internode. make sure you cut a few nodes below the leaf so it can grow roots. you can also chop up the bare stem, put it in some damp sphagnum moss, keep it moist and give it lots of light! these are called wet sticks - just make sure they each have at least one node! the picture attached shows some good places to cut 🌱 any container should be fine, i tend to go with glass if its a big enough prop :) your plant also looks like it needs a good watering - you can see how the stem is wrinkly and probably a little soft, which indicates its VERY thirsty. also - when you repotted, did the roots nicely fill out the size of the pot, or was there lots of space around the root ball? the pot looks a little big, but if there were tons of roots and the pot had no more than 1-2 inches of space around the roots you should be ok :)

Also, yes I did properly repot, however, it was an extremely large plant before this and despite watering it frequently when it seems dry, it still wasn’t doing very good, so I’m just going to propagate! Thanks for all your help!
