Hello all new to monsteras! I usually propagate all my plants but I fancied a bigger plant in the collection and I’ve always wanted a monstera. Does anyone know if there’s a way to check or guesstimate its age?

Your monstera looks young because there are no split leaves or fenestrations. As a plant matures, the leaves get bigger & get more fenestations. The more fenestrations-the older it is.

Yeah I was wondering when they’d start coming in google said 2-3 years old

Not sure this is true-but I read somewhere that the leaves will start to get fenestrations after the 5th leaf. Good luck with yours!

make sure to give it enough light, as well! when people with older mosterras with fenestrations get a new leaf that has no holes, a common reason for this is not enough light. having the plant climb up something, either a trellis or a wood board also helps! the monstera does also have to be old enough, so if you have it for a while and theres no fenestrations, try giving more light. good luck!
