Hello! I am a relatively new houseplant keeper and a brand new monstera owner. My MIL brought me this for my birthday and now I have the task of repotting. I know monsteras like a chunky soil with a moss pole. But looking at this plant, it appears to be multiple monsteras in the pot. Should I separate them or plant together as is? Any advice for repotting this plant is welcome!

Why do you need to replant him? He looks good. I would leave him until he is quite a bit bigger. Just water him and give him some 10-10-10. I have a ton of these in my collection. If you HAVE to repot him, I would try and keep them together. Sometimes I split them up. But, they do like their roots a little root bound. So, I would keep him where he is for now. 😉

Well I have found I generally need to replace the soil in new plants as they often arrive soaked and waterlogged. My scrolling has lead me to believe they want a chunky mix and I have a moss pole for it as well that I don't know how to add without repotting. I'm happy to let it be but I want to set it up for success

Ok got it. Yes, I normally use just potting soil and orchid soil with some perlite.

It would be whatever you prefer, do you want one pot with multiple or 3-4 different pots? Me personally I would separate them (I did and gave a few to my fam that loves plants as well) And for my chunky mix I use 1 part soil, 1 part Orchid bark and 1 part perlite (I use an old pot to measure but I throw in some extra perlite for funsies) and then a little coco coir about 1/2. Mix mix mix and slap it in there lol Also if you decide to put in a moss pole, separating them would be the best to train them 🫶🏽
