It’s in water and it started out as a cutting I didn’t expect this to happen after only 6 months and honestly I’m scared to repot it now like genuinely scared what do I do with that 😂😂

Is that what this is communicating? Should I switch it to soil? I’m sorry I’m trying to learn the way of the aroid but I keep getting rot when I grow monstera in anything but water.
0件のいいねNo, it doesn’t mean it wants a bigger pot. The plant is just looking for something to anchor itself to. Totally normal Monstera behavior! :) You don’t have to switch to soil if you don’t want to, but if you do, I recommend a chunky aroid mix like perlite, bark, coco chips, etc.
0件のいいねMonsteras are very sturdy they can handle a repot into soil from water fine as long as you water properly after. They are aroids so they need chunky well draining soil, and prefer to dry out before watering again so the roots have time to breathe. they also really appreciate something to climb on, the aerial roots will appreciate that a lot because in nature they grow up tree trunks. I would recommend soil over water especially if its old and has a lot of roots because it is harder for the roots to breathe in water unless you are changing it out regularly with fresh water. Good luck!
0件のいいねThe plant is likely communicating that it’s roots need to breathe more and be exposed to more oxygen or else they may start to rot if they haven’t already. If there are rotted roots just chop them when you repot with sterile tools, and don’t put it back into water.
