This monstera was gifted to me a few months ago and has been doing pretty well! However, it’s been putting out tons of little leaves and only one or two large leaves. Any ideas on why this may be happening, or anything I can do to help it focus it’s energy on larger growth? Thanks in advance!

There are definitely multiple plants in the pot. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but are the small leaves all coming from the same vine and the large fenestrated leaves coming from different vines/plants? The small leaves at the bottom I think are just baby plants so it will take those awhile to size up

Took a closer look and it does seem like all the small leaves could be coming from a separate plant! Makes so much sense now haha - thank you!

smaller new leaves can mean the plant is a. not getting enough light, b. not fertilized often enough, or c. running out of room to grow in the pot. my monstera deliciosa once put out a leaf that was 1/3 the size of previous leaves and it turned out that the pot was 90% roots and about 10% compacted soil. does your plant have a grow light above it? i would be concerned it’s not getting enough light unless it lives right in a bright window or has a grow light on for at least 10 hours per day.

I think that mine just had a baby monstera growing in the same pot! If yours are coming from the same plant as the larger leaves, the comment left right above yours might be helpful :)
