Hi! Can anyone help me with fertilising? When fertilising my monsters can I do it from the bottom like bottom watering or do I need to pour it from the top? And when should I fertilise?

KThese are great questions and the answer is really “it depends” for almost everything. You can top- or bottom-water, but if you bottom-water with fertilizer then every 3-6 months it’s not a bad idea to “flush” the pot by letting it sit under running water for 5 mins or so for one of its usual waterings. The plant’s fertilizer needs will be proportional to its rate of growth. This is why people farther from the equator often only fertilize in the spring and summer (when growth is high) and people in more tropical climates (or who grow with consistent grow lights and temp) often fertilize year-round. The best place to start will be with the directions on your fertilizer, because it may be designed for use every watering or it might be designed to feed, say, as a more concentrated monthly dose. Once you try out the recs on the label you can adjust the dose and frequency and see how it affects your results. I personally water with a low dose of fertilizer in every watering, mostly because I don’t like having to prepare two separate jugs of water for different plants, but that comes from trial and error.

Aahh okay thank you, should I fertilise on its own day or just do it at the same time as a water?
