Is it normal for her to be dropped down like this? I just got her from Facebook marketplace and I believe she was probably propagated for rooting! Very new to the plant and just want to make sure I don’t kill it!!

Monsteras are climbers. She’s going to need some support to get her to stand up.
1 j'aimeThank you!! I wasn’t sure if she was still too small for me to put something in!
0 J'aimeThe extra long petioles (piece that attaches the leaf to the stem) also indicate she probably wasn’t getting enough light before you got her, because it looks like she’s reaching really hard. You can give her some support if you want to start that climbing process, but she’s probably going to keep putting out leggy new growth until she gets more light.
0 J'aimeThis makes sense! I have her probably 11-12 ft from our south(west?) facing windows! Should I move her closer or take time to do this?
0 J'aimeI would try moving her closer if you have the room. Monsteras like bright indirect light with/without a little direct light during the day and that sounds fairly far away from the windows. Where you are in the world, time of year, and shades will make everyone’s light situation different but this diagram gives a simplified version of the light zones in a room.
0 J'aimeNewbie here…when I got my monstera no one told me they were climbers…and this is him. I have since propped him up with sticks. I’m hoping to get him to get a little more upright so I can add a pole and fasten him to it. I don’t want to cut him up because he seems happy. So I’m all for letting him do his thing. He is my favorite, by the way, but don’t tell my other babies. 😉
0 J'aimeYes he definitely need a moss pole or trellis. Once you do that he gonna get even more massive.
