Hello! I just got this monstera adansonii and was wondering if I should transfer it to soil? I read that they can grow in water but I don't want to shock the roots by repotting it into soil. I'm so in love with her and want to give her the best!
You can repot her into good chunky soil! Well draining soil is key! I wouldn’t think it would shock the roots… soil is typically the goal with water propagations. When getting your mix try for 40% soil and 60% amendments like pearlite, orchid bark, charcoal, etc. I think she’ll do great!

You could keep it in water if you wanted, it would just need somw fertilizer every once in awhile. I like to transfer my water props into soil, but some people prefer water cause you get less pests and they're less maintenancet o some. I know some people say not to immediately repot a plant you bring home as its already stressed from the change, but I'm impatient and do it anyway with no issues lol 👍
1 like I did end up repotting it into a mix of orchid bark and tropical soil mix and am hoping for the best, so far so good though!
