Hi friends! (semi) new to the plant world. Just bought my first monstera last night. she’s currently in my window and i have not repotted her yet. Couple of questions!! 1. Is this spot okay for her? 2. when should I repot & what soil should I use? 3. I want her to grow real leafy, key hacks? 4. and lastly, does she look ok!?
Hi! Your plant looks good. After ~3 weeks in its new spot, I’d recommend a repot. Get chunky soil that breaths easy. Check the roots for any damage and cut off any rotting. Get a moss pole / plant stake and tie your monstera to it. This will encourage bigger leaf growth. Ensure the stake is put behind the direction it naturally leans / grows. In the spring, buy a monstera fertilizer and fertilize bi weekly. When watering, there is no such thing as overwatering - but watering too often. So, when you do water, drench that thing and make sure the water runs out the pot. Then, let it dry before watering again. Best of luck

Make sure the leaves are not touchung the glass so they dont get scorched.

It looks like it's already producing fenestrated leaves. I'd trim some of the smaller non-fenestrated ones once its settle. This will encourage larger leaves to grow in.

Looks like a good spot to me. Monsteras love bright light, just keep an eye that it’s not getting blasted with harsh direct sun through the window for too long or you’ll get some burn. With repotting, I personally just do it straight away if the plant looks healthy, especially if it’s in that typical nursery mix. They’re pretty hardy and I’d rather have it set up properly from the start in a chunky, well-draining mix bark, perlite, a bit of coco. Way better than letting it sit in soggy mix. If you want big leafy growth the biggest things are light, giving it something to climb, and consistency. A moss pole or even a stake helps a lot once the aerial roots start grabbing onto something you’ll notice the leaves size up over time. Plant looks healthy overall too. Only thing is it looks like a few plants in one pot which is normal, but down the track it can get a bit crowded so you might end up separating them or just giving them support. Honestly you’re off to a good start Monsteras are pretty forgiving so as long as the basics are right it’ll do its thing
