Can anyone help me figure out what’s happening with my adasonii? It’s got this dried syrup-like film on it in a lot of places, even on brand new leaves. It seems perfectly healthy otherwise, not showing signs of distress

ooo! that’s most definitely a pest I’m just not sure what! I know its annoying but the best thing you can do for it is clean all the leaves, top and bottom, isolate it and MAYBE repot it in FRESH soil

I’m no expert but I just saw someone else talk about excreting water. Look up guttation? “If the droplets caused by guttation leave white, ink-blot type marks, then it might be a sign that you are over-fertilizing or should switch to a gentler option. It is important to recognize that overfertilizing can be potentially harmful. For instance, if there is excess fertilizer stuck in the xylem, it can sometimes lead to leaf burn. However, because xylem sap is a combination of minerals and water, sometimes white crust forms naturally and may not be a sign of over-fertilization. To avoid this issue, simply be aware of how much plant food you feed your Monstera, and you should be fine.”

You’re welcome! I actually caught mine excreting something 2 nights ago so I’m willing to bet it’s common!
