What, if anything, do I do about these? Are they roots? Dead? Plant seems happy?

Those are aerial roots. You can put a trellis or moss pole to help stabilize the plant and make it grow larger. The roots will then start to grow in the moss or around the trellis.

So add a second moss pole closer to those roots?
0 likesYou want to position the moss pole at the “back” of the plant which is where the aerial roots come from. The moss pole you have on it is not big enough for the plant so I would recommend making one.

2 likesAs others said above they are aerial roots & you can also just tuck the roots back into the soil as they get longer.
