So, itâs been 1.5 years since I got a cutting from a friend! The cutting on my had two leaves, and water propagated it during January 2024! It took roughly 3months for it to gain considerable roots, and the real journey began! Now, I have my first inner-hole fenestration! I was so excited to see the first fenestration, but so more excited when I saw an inner hole fenestration recently!! đ But throughout my journey, here are some tips for others (especially for those who are new to plants)! 1. â Slowly increase the sunlight!! I stated with indirect light and now my monstera takes full-direct-west-facing light! Yeah, it doesnât burn (and itâs summer!)! 2. â Make sure to keep the pot small! As in, the roots should be pretty snug in the pot! I used a 6â pot for an entire year before repotting to a 10â pot! I guess, the size does kinda depend on the size of the stake you have⊠Anyway, the alleged science is that the plant will focus on making leaves than growing roots! 3. â A grow light can help! Especially, if the place you have doesnât have sufficient light! 4. â Water your plant when itâs dry! This is so common advice, but itâs easy to fall off a routine over months or years. 5. â Fertilize during growing seasons!! And donât expect growth during winter; the plant goes dormant! Nothing is wrong! If anyone wants more details about each step of the journey, then I can share a video! It goes through my process in good detail! :)
