ChristinaMonsteras have a front and a back. Turning it from the light will confuse it. The back is where the aerial roots will start growing out as it matures. That is where you will eventually add support. The front of the leaves generally face away from that side naturally towards the light like your leaves already do. In nature the back sides are up against trees to anchor and climb- no light on that side. A slight turn to either side could be okay, but never away from the light.

Yep, still in what Walmart had him in. I removed the water I put in the self watering reservoirā¦hope to let it dry out a bit before I repot with better soil! Any soil recommendations? I have a fast draining mix I like to add perlite to for some of my green kidsā¦

Aloha Mikelā¦ I recently got a plant from Walmart, and had the same issue. It also had a tiny snail in the soil. I replanted it, and now itās fine. Sounds like you already have a great plan there, and that soil combo is perfect š¤š¼

āMonstera roots are surprisingly tough. You should be gentle but firm: carefully untangle, massage, and separate the root ball to encourage the roots to grow outward into the new soil. It is completely safe to trim away mushy, rotting roots or exceptionally long, circling root tipsā. Thatās from expertsā¦ š
