hello everyone! i have a question regarding my monstera that i've had for a year and a half now. i repotted it the day i got it and it has been in the same pot the ever since. i noticed that it stopped producing fenestrated leaves a while ago, so i finally got around to repotting it in a bigger pot 2 weeks ago. since then, a bunch of the bottom leaves have turned yellow and died off. none of the newer leaves have yellowed, but i'm wondering if i should do anything to it. the new soil (potting soil + perlite mix) has been pretty damp surprisingly since the last time i watered it. maybe its due to the change of seasons? any advice is appreciated, thank you in advance!

hi! typically a lack of fenestrations means its not receiving enough light, but i believe there can be some other factors that play into this. (im not sure what they are, hopefully some others chime in) as for the yellow leaves, it could maybe be stress making it drop the lower leaves, but my first thought was overwatering, as you said the soil was staying pretty moist. seasons changing can play a role, but monsterras are tropical plants, and assuming it lives inside, the temperature changes shouldnt impact it a whole bunch (assuming you have your home a pretty consistant temp year round) whats the ratio of perlite to soil in the new mix?

thanks for the reply! i'm also thinking the yellowing was caused mostly by overwatering. it must be this new soil mix (i'm not sure of the ratio of soil to perlite as my local nursery repotted it for me). but i have noticed that the soil stays damp longer than it did in the old pot/soil mixture. i think i'll just leave it alone for a while and hopefully it begins producing leaves again. she looks so bare. ☹️
