Hi guys, so my Monstera obviously has a front side to it. is that how most of them are or should we turn it around to let the other side grow? also I put it on a moss pole a few weeks ago but I’m not sure if I did it right🤍🪴

I’d say you’ve got them bunched a little too tightly — and there might be more than one plant in this pot. They do have a back side, but it can change if the direction of the light changes, so keep that in mind. This is a coco coir pole, which provides as much stability as a stake. A true moss pole is filled with sphagnum moss, which aerial roots will grow into and anchor, promoting larger leaves.

Ahhh, thank you so much I’ve learned so much here. I’ll try to look up some videos and re-fasten it to the pole. I kind of felt like it might have been A little too tight also.🤍🪴

Looks like you’ve tied some of the petioles to the pole, you only want to tie the main stem. Look into Kill This Plant on YT he has a ton of videos on monsteras.

When you see monsteras in nature, they are generally attached and growing up trees, so you don’t necessarily need to rotate them like other house plants. Their petiole will move in the direction of the light, so if you change directions in a dramatic way, the petiole now has to rotate and you will get these funky bends in the top where the leaf connects.
