Hi! I am a fairly new plant owner. I’ve always owned succulents and they’ve done well. Now that I’m into house plants I decide to go after my #1 and start my Monstera collection. I got her at Lowe’s. She’s still in her pot, I’ve done so much internet searching but to confirm my choices, which directional window is best? Rn she’s at my man’s house in an east window until I confirm she’s pest free. Do you water weekly? Mist? Shower with them? Bright or medium indirect light? How does your baby THRIVE? How do you choose to fertilize? I got this plant food but please tell me your choice of food and fertilizer! What soil do you use for tropical foliage! Thanks in advance 🪴🩷

I have one! I got from a two leaf cutting and she is THRIVING. I water after she is dry for 2-3 days, I haven’t actually fertilized yet… I also suggest a moss pole for support. don’t forget that she should have a pot only 2 inches bigger to prevent root rot. My baby is under grow lights so I can’t help to much for the light, medium to bright indirect is best. Good luck 🍀

Thank you! I just got her at Lowe’s so would you say this pot is too big or small? I can get better pics later. I also want grow lights! I’m hunting for a moss pole or trellis today!

You might want a tad smaller pot or if she’s not terribly potbound you could just place the plastic pot in a decorative one. Plus the worst thing you can do is overwater, it is much harder to fix then say under watering. I found a good pole on Amazon, it has a wire core covered in coco coir. I prefer coco coir to moss because it rots less and mimics a tree or rocks better ( they climb trees with there roots in the wild ) I also have good luck finding grow lights on Amazon, if you want a more decorative light you can use a grow bulb and put it in a normal fixture. Have fun!

I have mine in an east facing window..no moss pole because the thin ones I’ve found have a wooden spike which will eventually rot.. so I’m using this goofy spike thing for now.. mine was starter plant I got in April

The only way I've ever killed this plant was by leaving it in a car for 3 days in 110+ temperatures. I revived it from root rot and it flourished everywhere I put it. I honestly just forgot about it when I moved 🫣 pesky squirrelly brain. But it does well in low light conditions, thrives in medium light and just is a good grower. I don't recommend misting as most plants don't receive much, if any, benefit from misting
